The Honeybee Library in Middle Ridge, QLD, is one of the newer libraries on the literary block and Street Librarian Jo says that while the painting and decorating of the library was a passion project for her family, establishing the library itself has been a real community effort.

“This little library was generously built by our local Men’s Shed… some of the books have been kindly donated by our local council library,” says Jo.

“We hope this makes books more accessible to people who can’t get to the library. Or to delight in discovering a book as they walk past this little street library; children on their way home from school or the corner shop, or mums and dads walking past with a pram.”

“Seeing people stop to browse the books in this little library has been such a thrill!”

Welcome to the Street Library map, Honeybee!
