Long-time supporters of Street Libraries, we’ve been working with the council’s sustainability team to place ten new Street Libraries around the area; all part of our Council Engagement Package which is specifically designed for Councils wanting to support their communities by promoting literacy and sustainability.
“My children and I have loved borrowing from, and donating to, our local street libraries,” says Northmead resident and now Street Librarian, Christina. “We’ve read books we would never have picked up otherwise. Some have become favourites…others not!”
She continues: “Overall, I hope our little rainbow street library helps us give back to the community and return some of the joy we’ve gotten from street libraries over the years. Thanks COP!”
Congratulations to Christina and the other individuals and organisations who have been granted Street Libraries; we’ll be sharing some of their stories in the coming months.
