Street Library Australia (SLA) donated the library with the aim of engaging the community in the joy of reading.
The Street Library in Preston Beach will benefit both locals and visitors to the town, and organiser Dr Sue van Leeuwen thanked SLA, FMG, Shire of Waroona and Preston Beach Progress Association. She also thanked Lovel Anstee for painting the Street Library and Katherine Mackenzie for volunteering as the first Street Librarian for Preston Beach.
To celebrate the launch of the Street Library, all Mothers in Preston Beach were given a wrapped gift of a book with a reminder of the Street Library’s philosophy of ‘take a book, give a book, share a book’.
