The Community that Reads Together Grows Together.

The Country Women’s Association has long been providing community health and wellbeing. Street Libraries aim to do the same, albeit in a slightly different way. Street libraries are little weather proof houses installed at the front of schools for students, parents and the general community to connect and share books.

By simply installing a Street Library at your local CWA building you could be promoting literacy and a sense of community at the same time. Also building and painting it together could be an alternative as team activity! Or you could buy and sponsor a library in your community.

Placing Street Library in your area would add an extra bonus for country women and children, especially those women living in rural and remote Australia. It would continue promoting the spirit and generosity of CWA members everywhere.
