Alfalfa House Street Library

113 Enmore Road, Newtwon, NSW

We are a hot spot of activity from ethical/sustainable shoppers, lovers of the arts and an avid reading community. Our Street Library is fully stocked!

Alfalfa House Community Food Co-op has been established for over 36 years in the Newtown/Enmore community. We are a members owned organisation and majority run by volunteers and minimal paid staff. Our ethos is to be an ethical not-for-profit business and to stimulate community development, foster community spirit and promote sustainable living.

When we found out about the Street Library project, we jumped at the chance to install one as it fits perfectly with our DNA and provides a great service to the community and reminds people of ways in which to reduce waste, promote sustainable living and most importantly share in the literary delights a Street Library has to offer the community.
