The library started as a way to encourage kids and their families to visit the BaM Friendship Garden. This local community garden was started in the 1990s by two neighbours (Barbara and Marie) who wanted to beautify their local council verge by filling it with plants gifted to them by their friends and family. It has evolved to having vegetables, herbs and native ‘busk tucker’. Donating to the library has been so popular that books are rotated every couple of weeks by volunteers.
