Michele and Ian are avid readers and have too many books. It’s always been Michele’s dream to build a street library, especially since the location seems so suited to students from the nearby primary school.
In 2023 staff from a nearby high school donated lots of pre-loved books suitable for toddlers through to tweens. As well, for Michele to keep feeding her reading habit she needs to pass on fiction books for adults from her library.ww
We see the library as a reading democracy. It is primarily for fiction books for all, and informative books for primary school students. Everyone is welcome to take any or several of the books stored there, and to add their own good quality books to pass on. However, we will take out
* books that are dilapidated
* school text books
* books unsuitable for primary school children to leaf through.
