Once upon a time, a family whose children once laughed and learned at Berkeley Vale Community Preschool wanted to leave a gift for future generations. Together, they constructed a charming Street Library, a little wooden haven for books, right outside the preschool gates and near the busy Kurraba playground. This Street Library quickly became a treasure trove for the entire community.
At Berkeley Vale Community Preschool, we nurture a deep love for literacy and learning, and as a community-based preschool, we believe that this love should be shared beyond our walls. So, the Street Library was born, welcoming everyone—from curious toddlers to grandparents—to explore its shelves. Filled with stories, adventures, and information, the library is a space where anyone can take a book or leave one behind for others to enjoy.
Every book borrowed or shared here brings us closer as a community, sparking imaginations, spreading knowledge, and connecting neighbors through a simple love for reading. This small wooden library is our way of bringing the joy of literacy to all.
