Bibby Street Community was established in 2019 as George’s River Council’s initiative (Do It Differently Project) to connect neighbourhood via various activities in aim of reducing social isolation, loneliness, physical inactivity and promoting general well-being through inter-generational contact and interaction, physical activity, exercise and gatherings. We have connected through many initiatives, including an online group interaction and check-ins during COVID-19 pandemic. One of the activities was the street library, which was a collaborative project with St George Men’s Shed. We contributed books of various genres, most popular being cookbooks, exercise and health (lifestyle) books, children’s story books and teen fiction. It is definitely a window into the soul of our community. We hope it outlives the project and stays as a wonderful reminder of our community spirit and togetherness.
Bibby Street library contains books of various genres, for all age groups:cookbooks, DIY handbooks, fiction, non-fiction, children's picture- and story books. There are two housings at either end of the street.
Located at:29 Park Road Carlton and 15 Massey Street Carlton
