We are launching our street Library on Hispanic day at Only About Neutral Bay which is a long day care. We went on an excursion in March to the post office and the fire station in our community. The children walked pass a Street Library next to the Uniting Church and we’re wondering if we could have a street library for children as there was only adults book in that one. So we decided to look into getting our own one and asked the children to choose the one they wanted and we consulted the children for the design and the name which means Library in Spanish as they learn Spanish on a daily basis. We will be visiting the library as part of our curriculum several times a week with the children taking time to enjoy a book, share a book and take a book. This journey will continue to grow allowing our community to come together as one.
Come and visit the first street library in the North Shore to be designed by children, created by children and launched by children.
