Inspired by an episode of Gardening Australia, we felt the Corrimal community needed to jump on board and have our own street library. We have lots of young kids living in the area, and as a teacher I felt this would be a fun and creative way to share my love of reading with others.
My husband constructed our ideal library: a modest black design that sits inconspicuously within our neighbourhood. It doesn’t demand attention. It just sits in waiting, hoping to be discovered by some passing school kids or a family walking their dog on an evening stroll.
If you are not from the area, come visit this lovely little street in Wollongong. Grab one of our books and sit under the shade of a nearby tree. If you too love reading and feel your favourite stories need to be rediscovered by others, please send books our way! We hope a steady flow of donations will create a library that is consistently dynamic and engaging.
