I’ve wanted to have a Street Library for some time. I love a good read & what better way than to share that with the neighbours & anyone else looking to swap books.
The local Men’s Shed built this beauty for me & I hope I’ve got it weather-proof with the many coats of paint!
With help from a local builder to set the post & fit that correctly, along with another Tradie who popped in while working on another project, & bought & fitted a slide bolt to the library to keep the doors shut in the wind & rain. It has been a community project from start to finish.
I’ve already had some big ants trying to take possession of this prime real estate, so I guess I’ll need to be vigilant & move them on.
It has only been up for a short time & already I’m meeting people swapping books. What a great way to meet the neighbours.
Easy access, parking in the street or just walking by.
