We’ve wanted to start a street library for ages. One of my favourite memories from living in London was buying a cheap book or magazine and leaving it on the tube for the next person to read. I found some true gems that way.
My husband was reticent because he felt people wouldn’t appreciate it and might encourage vandalism. I said ‘have more faith!’
I want the library to pique interest and get the community involved. So many people don’t want to or can’t afford to buy new books, so this is a great way to recycle them and share the literary wealth. I’d love kids to get involved and share their books as well (but keep your favourites forever ❤️).
