Borges’ l’il beach library

1/40 Tarlton St, Somerton Park, SA, Australia

Borrow or swap a book on the way to the beach, or just swing by and enjoy the library any time you wish!

Inspired by the short story “the Library of Babel” by Argentinian short story author George Luis Borges, this colourful illustrated little library is located on the way to Somerton Park beach in Adelaide. It’s constructed from scratch from an old unused bedhead (with a little help from IKEA) and sits adjacent to a corner which is a little community hub of activity around the beach area. I figured it was the perfect place for a street library for all ages and walks of life, so help us keep this little corner of the street library universe flourishing!
