I have noticed more and more book libraries or exchanges when travelling overseas and within Australia. It is a source of joy and also practical to be able to pass on a book you have read and enjoyed and pick up another to start a new reading adventure!
It is more sustainable to share your good fortune with others – books are knowledge and home grown food is extra healthy! We try to support local and recycle where we can. We love the idea of passing on books we have enjoyed and of sharing excess homegrown vegies which might otherwise go to waste.
Our library was constructed at a friend’s Mens Shed and was a birthday present to ourselves!
Our library is a way of giving back to our local community, where we have lived for more than 3 decades. We also want to share excess vegies we have grown and other recyclable, useful commodities like spare jars.
