My mother was killed in a car accident when I was 16 years old. Driver fatigue may have been responsible.
Around 2017 I decided to use Kelvinator fridges that were made in the 1950s as Bush libraries. They are big and heavy and form part of Australia’s history and are very hard to steal. I have placed a few around outback NSW and SA. Thackaringa, Popilltah, Nymagee and Wentworth rest stops in NSW and Salt Creek and Port Lincoln, SA. The idea of painting them pink is that the colour stands out a mile and a driver who may be experiencing driver fatigue out of curiosity could pull over to check out the fridge. Stop for a few minutes, read a book and rest.
I also have put out around NSW and SA Pink Pianos. Watch my story on YouTube, “The Pink Piano Project”.
I use 1950s Kelvinator fridges, paint them pink and leave them at rest stops in outback NSW and SA.
