Care-A-Lot Community Library was an initiative that involved all our wonderful educators, families and children. We LOVE books and reading together and we wanted to share the joy and imagination that reading evokes. As Roald Dahl quoted “I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn’t be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.” We couldn’t agree more, and we would like to make a wide variety of books accessible to all within our community. We are gifted by so many generous families who donate books to us, and we would love to share these treasures with the wider community.
So many people have been involved in this beautiful addition to our centre, and a special thank you to one of our mums, Jessica Richards who created a heartfelt creation of Aboriginal Artwork to add even more meaning and respect to this community library. We welcome our local families and friends to be involved in sharing our community library and to enjoy the magical world of books and reading. WE hope this will be a tradition for generations to come.
