During COVID we got a new kitchen and decided to use one of the old cupboards to make into a Street Library : The Book Nook. It became a great success! As it was a very old cupboard (more than 33 years!), we expected that it would not last forever, out in the weather. Our new Little Library was made possible with a “Connecting Neighbours” grant from Wollongong City Council. Quite a few kids and neighbours in our street got involved to decorate it and now we have our Little Library up and running, after our Unveiling Morning Tea.
So this grant from our local Council was the perfect opportunity to get a new one and here it is!! (The old one is holding up, so now our street has 2!!)
We have 2 Street Libraries in our street, so plenty of choice for reading in our street! They are located at either end of the street.
