The City Southwest Community Street Library arose from a neighbour’s idea at our 2024 Neighbour Day celebration in response to an observation “There is no Street Library in the Southwest corner of the City”.

We have plenty of avid readers nearby + a desire to link our City community and broader community (local business employees, passer-bys) together.

The idea was met with enthusiastic support from locals and most importantly the City of Adelaide Council, who we asked to install it on their footpath land.

Installed 5/3/2025 – Come and enjoy this peaceful ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style Street Library area with 2 benches and surrounded by a variety of trees, verges, birds, butterflies, dragonflies + friendly locals.
