I will regularly, check my books, for variety and each has a hand made book mark to avoid dog ear corners.
Twelve months ago I saw street libraries in Newtown and just had to have one. I went to the Ballina mans shed and they agreed to build one for me. This was a bit slow but the end result was great. They undercoated the box inside and out, and even had 2 bags of books for me when I collected the finished box.
I put on 2 coats of white paint and a further 3 coats of blue and with the help of my granddaughter Piper we decorated it, than I did 4 coats of varnish. I do hope it survives the elements in Lennox Head.
My daughter came along and helped attach the library last Sunday, now waiting for the first borrower.
