A quirky quote laden old lectern that will get an upgrade very soon.....

I bought the old 1960’s at The bower in Marrickville several years ago. I painted it apple green. A neighbour put an acrylic door and “lid” on it as the rain didn’t agree with the veneer. I then used chalk pens to draw some of my favourite book quotes all over it. Anne of Green gables, Dragons of Pern, outlander and so on… Shakespeare even got a look in.
During the pandemic it has been deeply appreciated, esp from the older readers… it essentially has a life of its own.
Its getting a little old in the tooth now and I am pondering a new one, thats a bit more robust… it will have quotes on it too…
It is named after our house … The Dawn Treader.. Prince Caspian’s boat from the Narnia series.
