The Dougherty Community Centre is a hub for the local Chatswood area and contains a community herb garden, vertical garden, The Blend Café and rooms for hire for meetings, seminars and classes. It now also boasts 2 little free libraries. Regular lifestyle, spiritual, cultural and hobby classes and activities are also held at the centre.

The libraries were set up to allow patrons of the centre and people in the local area to have access to a store of books and also to donate books that they no longer need for others to enjoy. They are maintained by the staff at the Centre and have seen a fair bit of use since their erection earlier this year.
