Downs Community Farm Street Library

190 Old Wells Road, Seaford, VIC 3199

Facing the bike path that surrounds the Seaford Wetlands, the Downs Community Farm street library is a hidden gem filled with a wide range of books covering gardening, cooking, DIY, children's, fiction, and everything in-between!

Downs Community Farm’s purpose is to foster community connection to and care for the environment and each other by establishing a community gathering and learning place at Downs Estate, Seaford.

Our activities include building community resilience and wellbeing, connection to local history and culture, demonstrating and teaching sustainable food production to increase local food security and actively enhancing the natural environment.

Our street library is another way for us to reach out to our community, and we encourage those who are cycling or walking by to stop and have a chat with any of our volunteers who may be working in the garden. We hope to keep the library well stocked with gardening, cooking, DIY, and children’s books, but of course all literature is welcome!

In addition to this, we have a weekly working bee on Saturdays from 10am – 1pm, with the third Saturday of each month being our “Big Dig” gardening and community gathering event. See you there!
