Eastwood Community Centre’s is a not for profit that provides a diversity of programs and services to the local community. Using a community development model we work with community responding to their needs and identify areas that the Centre can support.
The community garden where our Little Library is situated has been built for local community members young and old to have a place to play, rest, relax all in an environment that is safe and beautiful. Our garden is filled a variety of flowers, various colours and smells, with the large trees that provide a canopy of shade.
It is a great place to have a children’s or adult party, as well as just come and let the children play on our wonderful play equipment.
Our garden is looked after by volunteers and through their work we identified that families come to the garden all the time and what a great way to share great books, encourage reading and have stories with children and adults. Our library is well used and books come from all members of the community,as well as the Lions Club of Glenside – Bookmart.
