It’s not about the books; it’s an opportunity to say hi to your neighbours, to offer their chooks some scraps, their compost bin some shredded paper from the office, to check on the old bloke on the corner, to know all the names of the people in the street AND what they like to read…..
We began as a War on Waste movement in three streets in Old Broome, and with everyone's enthusiasm and inclusiveness we have moved on to composting, drinks on the verge, gardens on the verge, laneway lunches, laneway art exhibitions and now a street library.
