The Flinders Park Kids Street Library and “Reading Spots” were made possible through a Placemakers Grant from the Charles Sturt Council. The shape of the Library is an ode to the eccentric “Mickey Mouse house” which had several concrete mushrooms (amoung many many other sculptures) in the front yard, & constantly evolved in our neighbourhood for over 60 years until its demolition in 2016. We pay our respects to it and to all those who choose a life less ordinary. We hope kids will learn to dream big though the books in our library.
This funky little Mushroom shaped Kids Library at Grant Place Reserve playground and our "Reading Spots" give a fun place for kids to read in an awesome playground.
Located at:cnr Grant Place and Greville Avenue Flinders Park SA Australia
