Footpath Street Library

1 Lang Street, Sydney, NSW, 2000, Australia

The Footpath Library encourages the benefits of reading and connection by giving quality books to people experiencing homelessness.

The Footpath Library gathers new and excellent quality secondhand books and distributes them to people experiencing homelessness, through mobile services in Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne. We collaborate with other providers in the homelessness sector such as Orange Sky and Vinnies Night Patrol, providing a truly unique service – The Footpath Library is the only free mobile library for people experiencing homelessness in Australia.

We maintain a high standard of physical and content quality, only giving books to our clients that we would be happy to give to a friend or relative.

The Footpath Library launched an eLibrary platform in July 2020 as a COVID response. eBooks and Audio Books are available for free to people who like to read on their device. You can find out more here.

Books help keep people healthy and happy and truly is food for the mind and soul!
