This library was built by Tegan Bain, a Rover Scout from St John’s Wood Scout group as part of her community development badge. She has built several other street libraries which are planned for placement at locations around the outer suburbs of Brisbane where street libraries are less frequent to help foster community. During Coronavirus lockdowns street libraries have become a welcome destination on daily walks and Tegan wanted to contribute to this.
Tegan has used up-cycled materials and collected book donations from family, friends and her Rover crew.
Located opposite the Ghost Gum trees lining historic Toowong Cemetery. Locals enjoy a good read, and this is a neighbourly way to share enjoyed books.
Located at:65 Frederick St, Toowong 4066
