My book club started during Covid as a way to come together to talk about books, zoom call for birthdays and check in with friends and the community. The book club has grown to over 130 members but now it’s time to take it in a new direction.
We’ve purchased an old green fridge that’s sturdy, waterproof and has lots of shelf space and we’ve placed it on our front lawn. We are hoping the school kids in the neighbourhood stop by to swap books, grab a snack and develop a love of learning through stories.
Our street library is a free, welcoming space where neighbours can discover new books, share stories, and connect with their community. Whether you’re looking for a quick read, want to donate a book you love, or simply enjoy the charm of a little outdoor library, there’s something here for everyone. We have little surprises as well such as free stickers, cute pens, bookmarks and snacks.
