GYC Hobart Campus Street Library

94 Barrack Street, hobart

Our library caters for the eclectic in taste but also benefits from donations from our own young adult library. A popular walking destination, despite the hills this library enjoys regular contributions from busy through traffic.

Our students constructed and painted our Hobart Campus Street Library as part of the volunteering component of their Community Service Learning course. Our students see themselves as part of the West Hobart community with its parks, leafy streets and enjoy a strong sense of place. Celebrating books, literacy for life and a spirit of sharing are all at the heart of our College’s desire for a Street Library! Our students and staff have also constructed, painted and donated 12 Street Libraries for other schools and community organisations by way of thank you and to promote this wonderful community phenomena of enjoying, sharing and reading books
