Lockdown has been tough! I have been missing my art class and needed a creative outlet. I love reading and community spirit and have seen so many Street Libraries popping up around the place. After asking our community page on Facebook, I learned we did not yet have one in our suburb. So, I dug out all the timber scraps I could find under our house, found some hinges that are on their third use, a hook from a neighbour and perspex from an old picture frame from my sister and, with help from my husband,v my idea came to life! I spent the next week painting and re painting my design 😂 ever the perfectionist 🤦🏻♀️. It is so bright and colourful and even has a “pebblecrete” roof….yet another reused piece from and old fishtank.
I can’t wait to see it get some use. You really can’t miss it!
We are so proud that this is the first Street Library in our suburb. Its so bright and colourful and was built with love!
