I pulled the wire off our front fence to paint the posts and rails. Then I had an idea that instead of putting the wire back in this small section of fence on the other side of the driveway, that I install a Street Library. Being next to a busy laneway, it should get plenty of traffic and books will change regularly. I made the box entirely out of scraps and cutoff materials I had at home. I used old floor boards for the main body. A couple of magnets to hold the door shut, offcut of clear plastic for the door etc. I like the idea of reusing anything, so passing books on to be read by someone else fits in with that philosophy.
Kids books and chapter books. You can tell people about the free library, you can also tell people we are always looking for donated books to put into the library. This allows different books at all times. Bottom shelf for extra items.
