After the devastation of the Townsville Floods, many residents had lost their treasured possessions and were relocated whilst their homes were restored. I wanted to boost the community morale. After seeing the success of Street Libraries through my friends in Victoria and NSW I decided to set up the library. I stocked it and made a Facebook page. I posted Information about it to the community group. The response was phenomenal with the library visited and donations of books received. The library has been running for more than 12 months and continues to grow. I now have 2 libraries, with one dedicated for our younger readers only.
