A lovely library nook on our fence in leafy Hurley Street with a range of fiction and non-fiction books for children and adults. Regular updates posted on Facebook (@hurleystbooknook) and Instagram (@hurleyst_booknook)
I wanted to build a street library out of an old drawer that I had found at a recycled building materials yard. It took me some time to finally get around to making it a reality, but with some help, it finally came to fruition and it brings me such satisfaction to be able to add books to our own little library and share them with our local community. I have dedicated the library to the memory of my father-in-law, who sadly passed away suddenly earlier this year and is very keenly missed. He was one of the most interesting and intelligent people I’ve ever known and a great lover of books and reading. I hope our library can inspire someone else to love to learn and read as much as he did.
