The children and educators at Jenny Wren Early Learning Centre by Busy Bees, have been working on developing a new and exciting project. This project began in 2020, with the children’s love of storybooks, and their desire to help others. As Covid-19 presented some issues being able to share books within our community the children and educators developed an internal library system. This was set up initially by the Preschool class. Educators from other classrooms would bring a few children to select books from the library and to bring other books from their own collection to share with peers.
We are excited to extend this library system to the whole community. The Preschool children have been excited to select the first books to be placed in the library. Each week a small group of children will monitor our library to ensure it is well taken care of.
