Joann’s Memorial Library

143 Angle Vale Road, Angle Vale, SA, Australia

Our Mission is to provide children and young people in the community with convenient access to literature. This fun and exciting project will encourage a playful approach to expanding avenues for reading.

𝕀𝕟𝕤𝕡𝕚𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟:
Joann Rose was not only an avid reader, and a Librarian, she was intensely passionate about public libraries and particular encouraging children to develop a love of reading. Her passion for reading would quickly become evident to all those who met her.
For every birthday and Christmas Joann would buy books for her 13 (now 14) Grandchildren. She always had a special talent for selecting the right book for each child no matter their age or interest.

Joann sadly was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on 24th June, 2015. After a short 5 month battle she passed away on 28th November, 2015.

One of the biggest frustrations for her whilst sick was that she was unable to enjoy reading and unable to share this joy with her grandchildren anymore.
We hope this Little Library continues her plight in helping children and all people discover the joy of reading!!
