Kurranulla – The Place of Pink Shells

10-12 John street cronulla

Our street library is something we would love the community to get involved with. We would love to see children/families of all ages add to our library to make it full. of loved books for all to read

Established as Mimi’s Kindergarten in 1959 by Judith Hewison OAM in an historic home built in the early 1900’s as a children’s guest house and day nursery. Mimi’s was one of the first childcare centres in New South Wales. Currently licenced for 53 children per day catering for ages 0-5 years providing high quality care for babies along with a school readiness program for preschoolers. Purchased in 2021 Mimi’s underwent an extensive restoration keeping its iconic pink exterior and retaining some of the original antique furniture, period fireplaces, ornate ceilings and rebranding the centre as Babies by the Bay at Mimi’s. We have since added our street library to this amazing centre and would love to gain some community involvement in getting our special street library up and running.
