Our Lady of Mount Carmel Community Street Library

2 Kellick Street Waterloo

Our colourful parrot, perched outside the entrance to the school and church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Waterloo, loves to read! With children's, young adult's and adult books - there is something tucked under our parrot's wings for everyone in the community.

The Street Library was a genuinely collaborative initiative. Dreamed up by teachers from OLMC Waterloo, built by volunteers in the Parish, vibrantly designed by one of our students with help from her “Pyjama Angel” from Waterloo Library – it came about through much creative discussion and generous offering of time.
