This Street Library/Share space was originally built by a family that lived up the end of the nearby court. It was placed in it’s current position with the agreement of the Lakeview Ave homeowner because there would have been very few passers by at their own home. After some years it became damaged and run down and a complaint was made to the local Council about it’s condition, wanting THEM to find someone to repair it. The original family that built it had since left Rowville so in July 2024 it was referred to Rowville Men’s Shed as a community project. Once the Shedder’s got it onto the workbench they found there was very little that could be saved so it was completely rebuilt. Our local Bunnings was approached and kindly supplied some of the materials required. Once the construction was done and given a lick of paint one of our more artistic members gave it it’s unique decoration of flowers and insects to make it standout as a focal point near the corner of Lakeview Ave & Corhanwarabul Close in Rowville.
You never know what you are going to find in this little Street Library. Take an item or leave one. You take something home or pay it forward by leaving what may be a treasure for a complete stranger.
