I’ve liked the idea of the Street Library ever since I first heard of the concept. Concerns about vandalism, however, prevented me setting up my own for some years. Lately I’ve seen a few in my suburb and they seem to survive intact so I finally decided to make one.
I like making things and this one was made entirely from materials I had in my workshop. That became a rule during construction and I’m quite pleased with the result.
I collect books and often end up with duplicates so this is a good way of sharing my love of them whilst clearing a bit of space on my own rather crowded bookshelves.
