Little Library on Valaud

39 Valaud Crescent Highfields 2289

Nestled in the peaceful suburb of Highfields, 200m from Fernleigh Track and Glenrock Conservation Area, sits a community library brimming with books to enjoy!

There’s a strong community in Valaud Crescent and its surrounding streets of Highfields. During COVID, a WhatsApp group started for our street, and it brought the community together, sharing information and happenings on the street as well as sharing resources. Adding a Street Library was just another way to connect residents (as well as welcome visitors to the area). Our library, established in 2024, is a repurposed filing cabinet, handpainted with native flowers. The library has a wide range of books, catering to adults and kids of all ages. There are also herbs growing around the library for visitors to pick. There’s a night light that brightens as visitors approach, so you can visit after the sun goes down. Pop by our little slice of heaven on Valaud Crescent, grab a book to take home, or relax in the local park at the end of our street, where you’ll find a small kids’ playground and a walking track that takes you to Glenrock Lagoon.
