Lottie’s Little Free Library

37 Mackerel Circuit, Alkimos WA 6038

A little piece of sunshine on a rainy day.

Our beautiful daughter Lottie was born prematurely, at just under 33w, in January 2023. We spent nearly 8 weeks with Lottie in the NICU, where reading books became one of the loveliest parts of each day. Some of her favourites were ‘Babies by the Billabong’ and ‘Koala Lou’.

Every night we would read Lottie a bedtime story. We fell in love with the book ‘Magic Beach’ by Alison Lester, and would read her this before we had to leave for the night. We dreamt of bringing Lottie home and visiting the beach, and we hoped more than anything that the NICU would someday be just a distant memory. Sadly, those memories are now all that we have. We have decorated her Little Library with a beach theme, in memory of reading Lottie her bedtime story.

Lottie was the gentlest and most loving baby girl, and she has left a huge imprint on our hearts. We are so proud to be her parents and will never be the same without her. We have installed this library in loving memory of our girl, and to raise awareness of the two conditions that shaped her life: Noonan Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.

Although the books in Lottie’s Library are free, if you wish to do more to show your support, please consider making a donation to one of the following organisations:
– Cerebral Palsy Alliance Australia
– Noonan Syndrome Foundation Australia
– Red Nose Australia
– Bears of Hope Australia

Thank you for visiting and contributing to Lottie’s library.
