Lucy Maud’s Little Library

“Our library isn’t very extensive,” said Anne, “But every book in it is a friend.”

This little library has been a dream that has been on my list of things to do for a number of years. Being a teacher who is now managing a school library for 900 students, bringing back reading for enjoyment is a passion and something that I work towards achieving every day.

The library was going to be a different colour, but as I couldn’t source the colours I wanted, I chose this green which just happens to be called ‘Picturebook Green’ (I think it was a sign!). Then, of course, Anne of Green Gables came to mind and it was as if it was meant to be this colour all along. I love that I get to pay tribute to a favourite character who herself loved and devoured books through this little library. I hope everyone in the neighbourhood (and beyond) who stops by finds a book to enjoy.
