Maidenwell Street Library

Outside the Trading Post, Maidenwell QLD 4615

Developed by our community group, decorated by our students, and situated outside our Trading Post, enjoy a reading/coffee break in our beautiful little town.

The idea of a Street Library was first raised at the May 2018 Maidenwell Community Group (MCG) Meeting and embraced wholeheartedly by the group. The fridge which houses the library was soon donated by the Trading Post and a competition launched for Tanduringie State School students to design posters reflecting the theme of the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s 2018 Book Week Theme ‘Find Your Treasure’ to decorate the new Library. The library was launched during Book Week and features the winning designs from the three age groups on the outside, and an ever-changing selection of reading material on the inside.
