McDonnell Creek State School Library

69273 Bruce Highway, Fishery Falls, 4717

Our library is the perfect stop for everyone road-tripping on Highway 1 in Far North Queensland. Located at the front of our picturesque school amongst the tropical mountains and cane fields. Pick up a book or leave one to share with our students and parents.

An idea born out of our community to share and spread the importance and enjoyment of reading for young and old. It was created and painted by parents of our school, who created a beautiful, colourful library for locals and tourists to enjoy. After some time of the library sitting idle, our school captains of 2021, Kate and Anneliese, made it one of their goals to make the dream happen. They have both been very proactive in getting it up and running as well as motivating our school community to support it.
