We live in a wonderful friendly street. Lots of kids, residents from many different backgrounds and lots of dogs. When our library “opened”, it reflected the diversity of the street and suburb. There are picture books, junior and young adult fiction, books for all sorts of interests and recent release and classic fiction. There have also been a few unique rocks, part of the Townsville Rocks activity, but these seem to be moved on quite quickly. We are very excited to see where the mix of books goes over time and have had many donations, which we are really happy to accept. We celebrated the launch of the library with our third street party which was well attended and we agreed that it was great to see favourite reads shared amongst the community and beyond.
Our library is for everyone. 2020 seemed like just the right time to build our street library and get it into action. It has seen plenty of interest.
