The staff and the children at Montessori Mt Hawthorn wanted to connect and give a little, between our families and with our local community. We believe that it is important to read with our children to develop language and literacy skills, to spark a child’s imagination and stimulate curiosity as well as
helping a child’s brain, social skills and communication skills.
We also believe that a street library it is an important way to show children the spirit of community by giving and sharing with others. Through this act we learn a valuable lesson, that a book is treasured possession which we should pass on to others to be reused, and not thrown out. This way we can be more sustainable and giving.
A beautiful home made street library for our childcare centre. Our library is placed outside our front door and is available to not just our families but the wider community also. We have a section for children's books and grown-up's books.
