In 2018, Barunga West Council received funding from the Public Library Services to purchase Street Library houses which were installed in the townships of Kulpara, Tickera, Bute, Mundoora, Alford, Fisherman Bay and Port Broughton at the Top of the Yorke Peninsula of SA.
Our Street Libraries allow community members to swap books in and out at different locations around the Council area. Our Street Libraries were painted by school kids and community groups and encourage tourists and members of the community to visit multiple towns in our region to use our playgrounds and outdoors spaces while also swapping books.
