From an early age, i have had a love of books and reading. The library was my favourite place to hang out. I even became a librarian in our home of Tullamore before we moved to the South Coast. So it was only inevitable that i would have my own street library one day to share this love of reading with the town of Nelligen and have a place for my excess books.
During COVID lockdowns we were trying to get Learner driver hours up for my daughter so we drove around and visited all the street libraries within our shire. I then thought that we needed one in Nelligen as there wasn’t one and the idea was born. This street library was created by local wood worker Bruce Coghlan and painted by myslef and our children.
This amazing 3 story street library was designed and created by Nelligen local - Bruce Coghlan. It was painted by myself and the kids during COVID and we have finally got it up and on display. I have a love of books and reading and would love to share this with locals in Nelligen and any visitors to our beautiful part of the world. So come and take a book or swap a book, why not take 2 or 3, there are plenty to share around
