We are all about community and connection – and reading! We love the concept of street libraries and have been wanting to put one up for a few years. We have lots of books to share and look forward to seeing what members of the community donate and borrow.
A connected community is a resilient community whose individuals look after each other in times of disaster or vulnerability. A street library is a small piece in this web, where connections and familiarity can be made during good times.
Knowing that local children and the elderly have access to a variety of books and can participate as equal members of the community is a lovely feeling.
We will check and clean and replenish our library regularly and you can always expect a variety of books.
Close to Railway Estate State School, a bus stop, Railway Ave and Boundary St, our library is accessible and available to adults and children alike.
Located at:8 Ninth Avenue, Railway Estate, QLD 4810
